We rented at Woodland for years before we finally bought last year. I thought I knew what we were getting into. Owning is a completely different experience. Most days last summer, the kids were there. Barefoot. Sun-soaked. Free. The friends they made, the community we’ve been welcomed into, the way it already feels like home. It’s the best decision we’ve made as a family. You could offer me ten times what we paid. I’m not selling. Some things you don’t sell. You pass down. We’re counting the days until we’re back!

What makes us come back to Cherry Beach is the people, we have a huge friend network there – the friends are the family we chose. You will be hard pressed to find any resort that has the beach and access to water the way Cherry Beach does. And it’s about making memories, one day, one campfire, one swim, one sunset, at a time.

The staff at Lantern Bay are excellent. First, we made an mistake and arrived one day earlier then what we booked. They calmly sorted out the confusion and got our cottage ready for us. Luckily, the cottage was also ready for us. Second, we left something behind at the cottage after check out. We called the staff who helped us sorted it out too.
Overall, the cottage resort is very family friendly. My kids enjoyed for the warm pool every day we stayed. I enjoyed the lake very much, and I made use of their paddleboard and kayaks. The resort organizes daily event for the community, and I had my first time doing yoga on the dock with an amazing view.
The whole family voted to go back to Lantern Bay next summer.

The resort is beautiful, the people are amazing and the amenities to keep everyone entertained were endless. Fishing the lake was great the kids were catching (small) fish every 5 minutes. The restaurant was fantastic and very accommodating (wanted to take food to go so the chef let us borrow the platters).
My hopes are to maybe get a seasonal site there in the near future. Thank you Golden Beach Resort for a BEAUTIFUL week we hope to return soon.
